Snorkeling in Bonaire

An easy way to enjoy the underwater beauty that surrounds Bonaire is to go snorkeling. It's low-tech, all that you need is a mask, snorkel and fins. People of all ages and experience levels will take home wonderful memories about their time in the waters of Bonaire. From toddlers to great-grandparents, snorkeling is safe for all ages and a great family activity.

The warm, clear waters surrounding Bonaire are world famous! Plaza Resort Bonaire's beach boasts one of the most easily accessible and beautiful snorkel sites that Bonaire has to offer. As soon as you enter the water you are surrounded by friendly angel fish, damsel fish and chromis. Swim out a little farther and you might get to see one of our aquatic Plaza Resort Bonaire guests - turtles, spotted eagle rays, seahorses, squid, eels or tarpon.

If you feel like seeing a bit more of the island above and below water, it's easy! Yellow stones along the coastal roadsides mark the snorkel and dive sites. To protect our Marine Park, even snorkelers on Bonaire are required to purchase a nature tag (only $US 10 for snorkelers). Just stop by the Activities desk or Dive Center to purchase your tags and for advice about recommended sites.
