A valid passport
Every traveler needs a valid passport for Bonaire. A Dutch identity card is not sufficient. The passport must be valid throughout your entire stay.
How long can you stay as a tourist?
Dutch and American citizens can generally stay as tourists for a maximum of 180 days within a 365-day period on Bonaire. For many other nationalities, the maximum is 90 days within a 180-day period. Those coming to work, intern, or with another travel purpose may encounter different conditions.

Need a visa?
Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality, length of stay, and travel purpose. Check this before booking through the official visa check of Netherlands Worldwide. A Visitor Entry Tax is not a visa and does not replace a travel document.
What can be asked upon arrival?
Be prepared for a check of:
your valid passport;
a return ticket or onward travel ticket;
the address of your stay on Bonaire;
your personal Visitor Entry Tax Code;
any additional documents related to your nationality or travel purpose.
Save important documents offline on your phone and, where possible, take a paper copy with you.
Expect a Visitor Entry Tax of US$75 per person from 13 years old and US$10 for children up to and including 12 years old. Rates and exemptions may change; therefore, view our current Visitor Entry Tax guide before you pay.
Traveling with minor children
If a child is traveling without both parents or guardians, the Koninklijke Marechaussee may ask for proof that the remaining parent or guardian has given permission. Use the official consent form for this and bring supporting documents.
